Eugenol, a developing asset in biobased epoxy resins

The synthesis of polymers from renewable resources is largely investigated in a context sustainable development. Polyepoxide networks, widely used many applications, constitute major class thermosetting synthesized bisphenol A (BPA), substance identified as chemical estrogen. Moreover, epichlorohydrin to graft glycidyl ether group onto BPA yield diglycidyl (DGEBA) very toxic. This review proposes demonstrate that eugenol represents an asset the development epoxy thermosets, by giving general approach researches on use and its isomers for epoxidized precursors. syntheses precursors with hetero atoms (nitrogen, phosphorus or silicon) specific applications electrochemistry flame-retardants compared DGEBA materials.
